About Us
The Borrowdale Institute is a community centre located in Rosthwaite, in the heart of the Borrowdale Valley.
Established over 100 years ago, it has served as the only community hub for farmers and families since its inception. It has been lovingly maintained by local trustees for decades and following a recent campaign to restore the building, the Institute has now been given a well deserved new lease of life.

We have various rooms available to hire to suit a wide range of bookings.
Take a look at our Rooms for Hire for more information or Contact Us - we would love to hear from you.

It includes appliances such as a large oven, induction hob, grill, hot water urn, under counter fridge, under counter freezer, hot cupboard, commercial dishwasher with a 3 minute cycle.

The Main Hall is a airy open space with high ceilings and lots of natural light flooding through the large windows.
It is decorated in a neutral colour palette to suit any colour scheme.
